Risk disclosure

Read this before you buy crypto or store it in a wallet.

Market risk

Cryptocurrency is volatile and can become (nearly) worthless. There is no guarantee of returns. Nothing on this website is financial advice; we make no price predictions and promise no profits.

Custody risk (exchanges)

Bitvavo, Finst and other exchanges hold your assets on your behalf (custodial). Your balance is then exposed to the risk of the exchange itself — think insolvency, hacks or freezes. Custody and self-custody are different storage models with different risk profiles; both are described on this site.

Self-custody risk (wallets)

With self-custody you are fully responsible for your recovery phrase and private keys. Anyone who loses or shares them loses their money. Store the recovery phrase offline, never give it to anyone — including “support” — and test recovery before depositing large amounts.

Availability and regulation

Products and offers may not be available in every country, and rules change (e.g. MiCA). Always check the current terms with the provider and the rules in your country.

Taxes

Crypto may be taxable. We do not provide tax advice; consult an adviser in your country.
