Privacy policy
This policy explains what data BestWalletGuide processes, why, and what rights you have. Published by Bink Online.
Who is responsible
BestWalletGuide is published by Bink Online, the Netherlands. Contact person: R.B. — email: hello@bestwalletguide.com.
What we process
- Country preference: when you select a country in the country selector, your choice is stored only in your browser (localStorage). It is never sent to our server.
- Server logs: our hosting provider processes standard technical data (IP address, browser type, requested pages) to keep the site secure and available. Logs are retained briefly and are not used to identify you.
- Affiliate clicks: when you click a sponsored (affiliate) link, you leave BestWalletGuide and the partner (Bitvavo, Finst, OneKey) may set its own cookies and attribute your visit. We receive only aggregated commission reports, not your personal data.
- Contact messages: if you email us, we process your message, your email address and any data you include, only to answer your request.
Cookies and similar technologies
BestWalletGuide itself sets no advertising cookies and uses no Google or third-party analytics. The only strictly necessary storage is your country choice in the browser (localStorage). Affiliate partners may set tracking cookies on their own domains when you click a sponsored link; this only happens after you give consent in our cookie banner, and it is subject to each partner’s own privacy policy. Typical affiliate cookies last up to 90 days, depending on the programme.
Legal basis (GDPR)
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) for affiliate tracking cookies.
- Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) for operating and securing the site, and for answering contact messages.
- Contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) where a message relates to an agreement.
Recipients
Your data is not sold. We share data only with our hosting provider (EU) and the affiliate networks we work with (Bitvavo, Finst, Tapfiliate, OneKey) as independent controllers for their own cookie processing. Contact messages may be processed by our email provider.
Retention
- Contact messages: up to 2 years after the last contact.
- Server logs: up to 30 days.
- Affiliate commission reports: kept for accounting purposes as required by law.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete and restrict your data, the right to data portability, the right to object, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, email hello@bestwalletguide.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch data protection authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
International transfers
Some affiliate partners are located outside the EU/EEA. Transfers rely on adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses. Affiliate cookies are set on the partner’s own domain, so the relevant transfer is governed by that partner’s privacy policy.
Changes
We may update this policy. The current version is dated 8 August 2026 and applies from that date.
